Job Description:

The Primary duties of a Millwright Level 2 are to maintain, troubleshoot and repair various CNC and manual machinery throughout the plant and facilities. While working under the guidance of Senior Millwright, most tasks are completed independently and to prescribed timelines. The Millwright Level 2 also provides assistance and guidance to junior team members. • Ensure that individual job target hours are met • Ensure all spares, equipment, tooling, etc. within the department under your control are managed • Must support and interact with Service and Maintenance Specialists contracted to perform specific tasks on machines, equipment and the plant. • Able and willing to train basic maintenance and repair processes and best practices to members of the team respecting skill levels, with attention to safety, quality, cost and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) • Operate the Tycos Maintenance Database and Work Order system • Participate in the flow of information within the department • Ability to interact with Management, Team Leaders, Senior Machinists, etc. • Participate in and support Continuous Improvement and WCM initiatives • Must be prepared and able to work on various shifts with supervision

Qualifications:

Education: • Minimum completion of Grade 12 diploma is a requirement • College diploma / University degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience an asset • Successful completion of Level #2 (Intermediate) Apprenticeship School Training with a Final Grade of 75% plus • Actively pursuing a Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright #433A Experience: • Currently a Maintenance Millwright Apprentice or completion of Maintenance Millwright Level 1 Internal training plan • Prior mechanical work experience in automotive industry or CNC machine shop is required Skills: • Work independently on troubleshooting machinery, with minimal supervision • Perform mechanical repairs with minimum supervision • Perform mechanical PM’s on machinery with minimum supervision • Perform tasks at the level of completion of Intermediate Apprenticeship Schooling • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of the construction and practical application of the various machines and equipment in the CNC machining department and the overall shop • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics and their operation as well as maintenance and repair. • Working knowledge of the building and general plant systems and equipment and the ability to maintain same. • Must have working knowledge of computer software • Read and understand required information to complete the maintenance and repair process(s) to specifications from vendor supplied schematics, data, drawings and instructions with regards to hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical components and operation • Basic knowledge of electricity and how electrical equipment functions on our machinery. Basic electrical troubleshooting • Safely and effectively assist with rigging and handling various sizes, shapes and weights of machinery and equipment. • Knowledge and understanding of various types of pumps and related valves and the ability to problem solve and repair same • Knowledge of lubricants, greases and oils, and their use and proper application. • Knowledge and understanding of various types of bearings and seals. Demonstrate the ability to assist with problem solving bearing issues and to remove and replace various types of bearings and seals. • Demonstrate the ability to assist with problem solving and repairing drive systems on machines such as ball screw, linear guide, belt or direct drive, etc. as well as screw and belt type conveyor systems • Basic welding skills using oxy/acetylene, MIG and/or TIG • Safely operate manual saws, lathes and milling/drilling machines to manufacture, modify or repair components that may be required on machinery or in the plant. • Analyze machinery and participate in the determination of the need for, and interact with, Service and Maintenance Specialists to be contracted to perform specific tasks on machines, equipment and the plant • Capable and licensed to work on high reach equipment • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Must have working knowledge of computer software • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel an asset • Analyze situations and problem solve • Organizational and time management skills • Strong interpersonal skills
