POSITION: Employment Specialist
 Full time, permanent
 35 hours (5 days/week)-flexibility of hours may be required on occasion
 Reports to: Employment Services Manager
 Location: Bradford West Gwillimbury office
 Mileage compensation as per the policy rate for work related travel
 3 weeks paid vacation

CONTACT Community Services is a not-for profit registered charity that has a long-standing history of taking a proactive approach to changing social needs in South Simcoe. Our services include: free community information, employment and volunteer services. Our community thrift store, The Clothes Line, offers gently recycled clothing and household goods and provides support to families and individuals in need. Our mission at CONTACT is to support the communities of South Simcoe by providing quality services through sustainable, creative solutions to community needs.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Employment Specialist will support clients from assessment through to employment. This will be done by providing ongoing assistance and follow up to monitor progress by linking clients with appropriate community and employment supports, providing job coaching and training opportunities.
This position also requires some job development experience as the specialist will also assist in implementing the Canada Ontario Job Grant (COJG) program when required to.

The Employment Specialist will support clients from assessment through to employment. This will be done by providing ongoing assistance and follow up to monitor progress by linking clients with appropriate community and employment supports, providing job coaching and training opportunities.

The Employment Specialist will:

 Work collaboratively with employment assisted individuals to develop an 'Employment Action
 Plan' and provide support in working toward a mutually agreed employment related outcome
 Conduct standardized assessments to determine client interests, aptitudes and abilities on a one on-one basis, where appropriate
 Identify barriers to employment and assist clients to develop job readiness skills and job search
strategies
 Assess need for additional assistance and make appropriate, supported referrals to community,
government and employment related services
 Support clients in accessing employment related programs where appropriate
 Follow up with clients at appropriate intervals to assess and record progress, provide job
coaching support or facilitate re-engagement with CONTACT Employment Services
 Conduct outreach to community organizations to promote CONTACT Employment Services,
develop good quality partnerships, establish referral protocols and conduct direct work with
clients when appropriate
 Assist clients in determining employment support needs
 Liaise with job developer, facilitator, information and resource personnel, government
departments and other social, employment and community agencies on mutual clients as
needed to facilitate client progress
 Conduct employment workshops based upon identified clients' needs
 Enter accurate client data into the Employment Ontario lnformation System, EOIS CaMs in a
timely manner
 Maintain case notes and appropriate documentation about client progress
 Complete required paperwork for clients wishing to access training
 Possess Job development skills and has knowledge of the COJG program, specifically.
 Other duties as assigned by the Employment Services Manager
