POSITION: Executive Director
  • CONTRACT: July, 2020– Aug, 2021 (13- month Maternity Leave)
  • 35 hours per week
  • Reports to: Board of Directors
  • Location: Alliston (primarily) and Bradford West Gwillimbury
  • Expectation of flexibility to work some week nights and weekends, as required
  • Mileage policy @$.52/km

CONTACT Community Services is searching for an Executive Director dedicated to professional social services and effective stakeholder engagement to help address emerging community needs in South Simcoe.
CONTACT Community Services is a registered charity with a 40 year history of taking a proactive approach to addressing social needs in South Simcoe. Our services include: free community information, housing, employment and community services. Our community thrift store, The Clothes Line, offers gently recycled clothing and household goods and provides support to families and individuals in need.
CONTACT is seeking an Executive Director for a 13-month contract for a maternity leave, based out of the main administrative office in Allison. The Executive Director will be joining CONTACT at a very exciting time, where significant program growth is being pursued and a secondary location of The Clothes Line is being explored. The desired candidate will be a motivated, inspired leader who is driven to:
  • Initiate, build and maintain active and positive partnerships with community agencies, funders, government and media;
  • Demonstrate familiarity with available funding opportunities and who has the proven ability to source out and secure new funding for program development in a quickly changing landscape;
  • Develop and manage an operational plan and budget;
  • Spearhead the engagement of the Board of Directors and relevant stakeholders in updating the organization’s strategic plan;
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy to raise the profile and brand awareness of CONTACT services;
  • Participate in local, regional and provincial networks and events;
  • Ensure the programs and services offered by the organization contribute to the organization’s mission;
  • Devise and create fundraising strategies to maintain sustainable revenues and develop new programs to meet community needs;
  • Work with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement or development of services;
  • Oversee the financial and human resources operations of the organization, including the annual audit.


CONTACT Community Services


The desired candidate will have:

  • A passion for CONTACT Community Services’ mission and guiding values;
  • Proven leadership and human resource management skills, preferably in the non-profit sector or social services sector;
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable reaching out to local community business leaders and proven ability to engage effectively with government and funders;
  • Demonstrated planning, time management and senior administrative experience;
  • Knowledge of human resources, financial and project management;
  • Business development, event management, sponsorship and marketing experience, preferably in the not-for-profit sector;
  • Willingness to be flexible and versatile in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Experience with volunteer management and community outreach;
  • Experience reporting to a Board of Directors.

The Board is considering applications and hopes to fill this position by mid-July, 2020 to accommodate appropriate on-boarding with the current Executive Director. Salary commensurate with experience: $66,000 - $71,000 annually.
