Job Description:

What is CLASS? The Community Living Association for South Simcoe (CLASS) provides services and supports to people with a developmental disability to enable them to live with dignity, maximize their potential for personal growth, and participate in all elements of living in the community. We strive to participate in our communities through employment opportunities, links to education and training as well as support for local events.

The Position: Our current opportunities are for full time, part time and casual support workers with flexible week day, evening and weekend availability. Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Provide support to people with developmental disabilities with a person directed approach
  • Assist with activities of daily living, meal preparation, personal hygiene care, etc.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with people supported, professional services, and families
  • Implement and follow behavioural support plans o Work independently and in team environments

Where are we located: We provide services in the South Simcoe County area including Alliston, Everett, Essa, Cookstown, Bradford, Innisfil and Tottenham. CLASS manages 18 residential group homes across our catchment area. Our day programs operate in Alliston and Bradford and provide an opportunity for the people we support as well as members of our community to participate in fulfilling activities and outings.   • High School Diploma
  • Relevant Post-Secondary diploma preferred. i.e. Developmental Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or Social Service Worker.
  • 3 to 6 months experience in the Developmental Services sector
  • Valid Ontario “G” driver’s license, required. “F” class an asset
  • First Aid & CPR, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, preferred o Special interest in Applied Behavioural Management
